Vijay Singh followed up on his second place finish in the Canadian Open to win by four strokes in match play over Mike Weir in the Make the Connection Legends of Golf Tournament.

This one is already in the books and you probably didn’t even know it was played. Top Golfer’s Singh and Weir battled this one out with Fiji’s best beating Canada’s best. The second annual event was to highlight the risks of cholesterol so as to reduce the possibility of heart disease and stroke.

The Links at Crowbush Cove where the tournament was played was recognized as “Canada’s best new course in 1994 and is currently rated with 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest and considered one of the two best valued courses in Canada by Golf Magazine.” The blue tees play a shade less than 7,000 yards with the forward tees down to a comfortable five thousand yards.

Even though you missed the tournament you didn’t miss the best time of the year to play golf on Prince Edward Island. In addition to Crowbush Cove, PEI boasts 25 fine courses which makes the relatively small island look like one great golf course. Green fees range from a modest $10 with packages starting at only seventy-nine dollars. The courses are so close to each other that an intrepid golfer can play two different courses in one day or almost all of them in one week…that’s how close they are to each other.
